China is continously pushing forward the establishment of a new free trade zome among Northeast Asian countries in order to increase the economic and trade exchanges in the region that consists of: Russia's far east, South Korea, North Korea, Japan, Mongolia and China's provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and northeastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Northeast Asia covers a combined area of nearly 9 million square km with population of about 300 million people. Total gross domestic product of the region is representing about 20% of the World total GDP being more than 70% of Asian GDP. Anyway, economic cooperation and exchanges in Northeast Asia remain at a low level compared with other regions such as East Asia or Southeast Asia. Setting aside numerous ideological differences would push forward strongly exchanges among Northeast Asian countries by giving priority to the economic and trade cooperation.
