Pepsi invests in China's Agriculture




Pepsi Company (Pepsico) announced yesterday that, in cooperation with the Chinese Government, will help to Chinese farmers to learn about the latest techniques in agriculture. Pepsi has signed a memorandum with the Chinese Ministery of Agriculture to construct experimental farms to test and demonstrate the latest techniques in irrigation, fertilization and crop management.

Pepsi Company officials expect that this type of farm will help farmers to improve yields and to raise living standards. The company reminded that it has allready launched projects in the field of agriculture in China that have enabled reduction of water consumption for potato breeding and to raise corp yields.

Last year, Pepsi Company announced that it will invest $ 2.5 billion in business in China over the next few years for further development of the Chinese agriculture.
