The Apple Inc. company (NASDAQ: APPL) has announced that it had reached an agreement with China Unicom (NYSE: CHL) to start to sale iPhone in China during the fourth quarter of 2009.
The company previews to sell more then 3 millions of smart phones on the giant Chinese market until September 2010. As it is previewed to sell 32.5 millions of iPhones abroad during this period, it means that about 10% of total sales abroad will be in China. China Unicom’s counts with almost 70 million of postpaid subscribers being the second largest Chinese operator after China Mobile Limited (NYSE: CHL).
The Chinese cell phone market counts with 687 millions of clients being more then complete population of the United States, Germany, Japan and Russia together. Apple is already present on 80 markets worldwide.
